 Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #2

Welcome back to Day #2! Hopefully, we will establish such a routine of gratitude that we will just continue meeting with God each day long after the 30 days in order to celebrate our blessings. 
Keep in mind the routine we are starting to establish (just like sitting down to coffee with a close friend):

We will sit down together. 
We will enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture. 
We will stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day. 
We will close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.

Scripture: 



I Chronicles 16:8-11
"Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always."

Psalm 28:7
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; 
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. 
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."



Reflection: 
Praise. When was the last time we honestly spent time praising Almighty God? 
Have we ever spoken aloud praise to God during our "quiet" time?
Have we made "known among the nations what he has done"?

These messages and our responses to these questions should guide our time today. 

Maybe it is time to acknowledge aloud how much God has helped each of us...maybe it is time to truly praise him and speak of his wonderful acts on our behalf. 



Prayer:
Heavenly God, I praise Your name for all that You are! You have been faithful in my life in so many ways, and I am grateful for Your patience, Your goodness, and Your love. Lord, help me to see each of the blessings in my life and to acknowledge that they come from You, Lord God. Give me the courage to tell others of the works of Your hands, Lord. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Thirsty for Thankfulness: 30 Days of Counting Blessings We all can recognize the physical signs of being thirsty. When we have that dry feeling in our mouths, we know, we just know , that our bodies need to replenish our water supply by drinking liquids.   Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #1 We have recognized that we are thirsty for some thankfulness in our lives. Now let's see what a difference purposefully satisfying our souls with Scripture can do.  We are going to approach  each of the next 30 days as if we have arranged for a coffee date with a friend.  We will sit down together.  We will enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture.   We will stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day.  We will close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.
