Thankful for God’s Forgiveness

"Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time, saying..." ~Jonah 3:1

A second chance. Jonah was given a second chance from the Lord. Aren’t we all glad that He is willing to give second chances?

Our routine: 
  • Sit down together. 
  • Enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture. 
  • Stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day. 
  • Close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.
Scripture: 


I John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Matthew 6:12
"And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors."

Ephesians 4:32
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Hebrews 8:12
"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

Psalm 130
"Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD; 
Lord, hear my voice. 
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, 
Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you."

Reflection: 

We need to grasp on to the second chance God gives us. We need to acknowledge our sins, ask forgiveness, accept that forgiveness, and strive to do better in the future. God is good; He will help us with this whole process.

Prayer:
Almighty God, We are so thankful that You are willing to give us second chances. We are grateful that You will forgive us. Thank You for not keeping a record of our wrongs, but instead, You encourage us to live and serve You each day. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

When we have that dry feeling in our mouths, we know, we just know , that our bodies need to replenish our water supply by drinking liquids.   Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #1 We have recognized that we are thirsty for some thankfulness in our lives. Now let's see what a difference purposefully satisfying our souls with Scripture can do.  We are going to approach  each of the next 30 days as if we have arranged for a coffee date with a friend.  We will sit down together.  We will enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture.   We will stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day.  We will close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.   Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #2 Welcome back to Day #2!
