Thankful for Living Water

"Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. 

Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, 

and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’" ~John 6:35

Our routine: 
  • Sit down together. 
  • Enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture. 
  • Stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day. 
  • Close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.
Scripture: 


Isaiah 44:3
"For I will pour water on the thirsty land, 
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, 
and my blessing on your descendants."

Matthew 5:6
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

Psalm 28:7
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; 
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, 
and with my song I praise him."


Reflection: 
  • God gives us the blessing of Living Water.
  • We recognize our need for Living Water. 
  • We accept the Living Water offered through Jesus. 
  • We sing praises to the LORD for this amazing gift. 

Prayer:
Almighty God, We love You. We are thirsty, and we trust in Your promises in Scripture. We believe that Jesus is our Savior. As sinners, we are thirsty for forgiveness and for salvation. We know that these only come through Your Son, Jesus. We humbly come to You. Father, we praise You for this blessing of Living Water. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Thirsty for Thankfulness: 30 Days of Counting Blessings We all can recognize the physical signs of being thirsty. When we have that dry feeling in our mouths, we know, we just know , that our bodies need to replenish our water supply by drinking liquids. If we don't do this, we may soon be suffering other consequences, such as feeling lightheaded. A lack of liquids can affect us mentally, with us feeling confused or a little "foggy," and emotionally, with us feeling either anxious or a more than a little "cranky."  While we have these recognizable issues when we are physically thirsty, are we able to recognize any symptoms of being spiritually thirsty?  I have experienced a thirsty spirit.   Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #1 We have recognized that we are thirsty for some thankfulness in our lives. Now let's see what a difference purposefully satisfying our souls with Scripture can do.  We are going to approach  each of the next 30 days as if we have arranged for a coffee date with a friend.  We will sit down together.  We will enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture.   We will stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day.  We will close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.   Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #2 Welcome back to Day #2! Hopefully, we will establish such a routine of gratitude that we will just continue meeting with God each day long after the 30 days in order to celebrate our blessings.  Keep in mind the routine we are starting to establish (just like sitting down to coffee with a close friend): We will sit down together.  We will enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of  Scripture.   We will stay and linger with our Creator as we  reflect  on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day.  We will close with words of  prayer  to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.
