Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #28
Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #28
Thankful for the Spirit of God
"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." ~John 14:26
Our routine:
- Sit down together.
- Enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture.
- Stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day.
- Close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.
Scripture:
Isaiah 11:2
"The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him--
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD--"
Acts 1:8
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 2:38
"Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’"
Romans 8:26
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."
Reflection:
What a blessing to get to have the Spirit of the Living God in our midst! Let that reality soak in as we prepare to pray to the God, our Creator.
Prayer:
Almighty God, we are so thankful for You! You are the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God, we believe in Your Power and in Your Glory. Thank You for giving us the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You for the intercession of the Holy Spirit. We want to live for You, God. Guide us. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
