Thankful for Eternal Life

"...but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." ~John 4:14

Our routine: 
  • Sit down together. 
  • Enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture. 
  • Stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day. 
  • Close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.

Proverbs 4: 35
"For those who find me find life and receive favor from the LORD."

2 Corinthians 4: 15-18
(What beautiful promises; let’s look at each individually)
  • "All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
  • Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
  • For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all
  • So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Isaiah 58:11
"The LORD will guide you always;

Hebrews 12:28-29

Reflection: 
Let us be thankful. Indeed, let us be thankful. 
Eternal life!
We cannot even fathom the depths of God’s love for each of us. God blesses us in this life, and yet, He wants to secure a place for us in eternity. Let us be thankful. 
Prayer:
Almighty God, We humbly say thank You. Lord, we are so undeserving. You have created such a beautiful world. We are thankful. You gave us life. We are thankful. You provided a Savior. We are thankful. You provided the Holy Spirit. We are thankful. You offered us forgiveness and grace. We are thankful. You provide Your Word. We are thankful. You give us eternal life. We are thankful. God, You are the One True God, and we are thankful to You! In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Thirsty for Thankfulness: 30 Days of Counting Blessings We all can recognize the physical signs of being thirsty. When we have that dry feeling in our mouths, we know, we just know , that our bodies need to replenish our water supply by drinking liquids. If we don't do this, we may soon be suffering other consequences, such as feeling lightheaded. A lack of liquids can affect us mentally, with us feeling confused or a little "foggy," and emotionally, with us feeling either anxious or a more than a little "cranky."  While we have these recognizable issues when we are physically thirsty, are we able to recognize any symptoms of being spiritually thirsty?  I have experienced a thirsty spirit.   Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #1 We have recognized that we are thirsty for some thankfulness in our lives. Now let's see what a difference purposefully satisfying our souls with Scripture can do.  We are going to approach  each of the next 30 days as if we have arranged for a coffee date with a friend.  We will sit down together.  We will enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of Scripture.   We will stay and linger with our Creator as we reflect on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day.  We will close with words of prayer to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.   Thirsty for Thankfulness: Day #2 Welcome back to Day #2! Hopefully, we will establish such a routine of gratitude that we will just continue meeting with God each day long after the 30 days in order to celebrate our blessings.  Keep in mind the routine we are starting to establish (just like sitting down to coffee with a close friend): We will sit down together.  We will enjoy the cup of blessing that can be provided by a good dose of  Scripture.   We will stay and linger with our Creator as we  reflect  on our blessings as revealed in the words we read each day.  We will close with words of  prayer  to help deepen our relationship with Almighty God.
